Trends through December 2009
According to this issue, which tracks trends through December 2009, the number of emergency department visits grew by 3.8 percent citywide in 2009. At nine hospitals, including seven in Queens, the number of emergency department visits grew by more than 10 percent. This issue also reports on declines in length of stay, and highlights trends in ambulatory surgery, hospital staffing, and finances in New York City hospitals.
