The United Hospital Fund works to understand how changes in health care policy and financing affect both low-income New Yorkers and the public and voluntary hospitals and health centers that have traditionally served as their safety net.
The Fund routinely tracks and publishes information on New York City's health care system. The quarterly publication Hospital Watch discusses trends in use, operations, and financial performance of voluntary and municipal hospitals in New York City. The Health Care Annual presents detailed service information on hospitals in southern New York, along with information on diagnostic and treatment centers in New York City. It permits the study of system-wide developments as well as of the performance of individual facilities in relation to their peers.
