New Leadership Group 17th Annual Healthy Kids Benefit | Archived

Join the New Leadership Group for its 17th annual Healthy Kids Benefit, supporting better health care for children living in low-income neighborhoods. The festive cocktail party features raffle prizes and an exciting array of on-line and silent auction packages.

The 2009 Humanitarian Award will be presented to Jim Watkins, co-anchor, WPIX News at Ten, for his strong commitment to community service, particularly his support of the Ronald McDonald House, Special Olympics, The Leukemia Society, and the New York Center for Autism. He has consistently demonstrated a deep commitment to improving the lives of others through his professional career and volunteerism.

The Special Tribute Award will be presented to Jeannie Bochette, Marketing Manager, Business Development, at Steelcase, to recognize her longstanding support of the Healthy Kids Benefit and the United Hospital Fund, among other important contributions.

Proceeds from the Healthy Kids Benefit support innovative model programs that make a real difference to underserved children and their families and can lead to better health and health care across the city. Most recently, proceeds from the 2008 benefit are supporting a $70,000 grant to Alianza Dominican to implement the Healthy Living Project to address child and adolescent obesity in the context of the Alianza family support mental health clinic.
