The United Hospital Fund will hold a program development and application assistance meeting to help hospitals seeking support through the Health Care Improvement Grants (HCIG) program for projects promoting health care voluntarism. Fund staff will provide an overview of the HCIG focus area; describe the guidelines, application process, and budget requirements; and address issues of institutional support and recruitment and training of volunteers.

The HCIG promoting voluntarism will have funds available to support both new and expanded programs that include assisting patients in the management of their chronic illness, developing and strengthening patient's health literacy skills, and promoting preventive health and safety practices for patients of all ages.

This meeting is for hospital directors of volunteers, auxiliary leaders, grant writers, and anyone who is interested in learning about the criteria and application process for the Fund's HCIG program promoting voluntarism.

Lunch will be served.
