This half-day event will examine the prospects for action on a range of national health policy issues.

In the opening session, Mollyann Brodie, vice president and director of Public Opinion and Survey Research for the Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation, will present polling and election data describing voter attitudes on health care issues, and will explore how these attitudes are likely to shape state and national actions. Next, Susan Dentzer, editor-in-chief of Health Affairs, will facilitate a discussion with three nationally prominent health policy experts: Karen Davis, David Blumenthal, MD, and Sheila Burke. They will discuss the formulation, selection, and implementation of critical health policy choices in the transition to the new Administration. Concluding the conference, Fund President James R. Tallon, Jr., will examine how the interplay of economic trends, public attitudes, and federal actions will shape New York State's policy choices.
