What lessons can we learn from this election season about the best ways to engage volunteers of all ages? Surely one lesson is that each generation is motivated by different issues and seeks different types of volunteer experiences. This conference will explore a range of related issues.

In the conference's keynote address, Donna Butts, executive director of Generations United, will answer questions like, “What makes people passionate enough to get involved?” and “How can multiple generations of volunteers revitalize our organizations and communities?” The panel discussion that follows will focus on the demographics of volunteers in New York City, innovative strategies to engage young professionals, and best practices for managing different generations of volunteers.

Three concurrent workshops will cover strategies for training multiple generations of volunteers, creating targeted marketing and communications plans for each generation, and developing programs that appeal to ultiple generations.

For those who plan to attend, we would greatly appreciate your letting us know your workshop preferences among the following:
1. Strategies for Training
2. Marketing and Communication Tips
3. Program Development
After registering for the conference, please e-mail your first and second choice of workshop to gmessam@uhfnyc.org. Thank you. For more information, download and view the brochure below.
