Hillary Jalon is director of quality improvement, responsible for providing strategic direction of the Fund’s quality and performance improvement initiatives, in line with national and state initiatives and policies. Ms. Jalon has worked collaboratively with the Greater New York Hospital Association in designing, managing, and working with teams on a number of hospital quality improvement initiatives across the Greater New York region. She is also a member of the New York State Department of Health’s Hospital-Acquired Infection Technical Advisory Workgroup.
 

Prior to joining the Fund in 2005, Ms. Jalon was manager for service improvement and performance improvement specialist at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, from 1998 through 2004. There, she was responsible for facilitating interdisciplinary teams using quality improvement tools and techniques, managing teams to prepare for regulatory surveys, and designing, testing, and implementing quality improvement initiatives directly with leadership and front-line staff to improve clinical performance for asthma, diabetes, and addiction psychiatry. Previously, she worked at the Iroquois Healthcare Alliance, the regional hospital association of northeastern and central New York, as a project manager for quality, with a focus on analyzing outcomes-based quality indicators and convening multiple stakeholders for a quality improvement project involving publicly reporting specific hospital data. Ms. Jalon received a BA in Social Sciences from State University of New York at Stony Brook and an MS in Health Services Administration from Russell Sage College in Rensselaer, NY.
